Acute Care is a type of care where a patient receives active but short-term treatment for an illness or an injury. Acute illnesses or injuries may involve a single organ or multiple organ systems of your body. This care is mostly delivered to a patient in an out-patient settings but can sometimes result in the patient being hospitalized for a brief period.
Over the last several years the current healthcare treatment system has transformed into a strictly out-patient treatment of acute illnesses provided by your primary care physician and a strictly in-patient treatment in the emergency rooms and hospitals provided by the hospitalists and sub-specialists.
We, at Medistop Concierge Medical Care (CMC) take pride in promptly diagnosing and treating any acute illnesses by integrating our medical knowledge and vast experience. During these acute illnesses you become our top priority. If needed, we might refer you to an experienced specialist. Our main goal is to keep you away from the hospital.
In the event of hospitalization, Medistop CMC physicians play an active role in ensure your health is taken care of. Being your primary care physician, we act as an advocate of your healthcare. We stay in close contact with the hospitalist and sub-specialists in making sure the delivery of care is coordinated until you are discharged.
